Mail Days 💌

As the days grow chillier, my closet is growing bigger! Three packages have arrived in the last few days. Let's open them together!

The first package was the Momo's Birthday JSK in yellow from the brand Summer Fairy. I purchased it because it has the colorway and motifs of my dream wardrobe (yellow and bunnies)!

The yellow is a bit lighter in person than in the brand photo which surprised me. The color seems to be more of a cream with yellow undertones. I was slightly disappointed by this, but another element of the dress surprised me in a positive way!

This JSK fits my long torso! My waist is set so low on my body that even normal waist JSKs (and the waists of non-lolita dresses) often fall too high. This JSK has adjustable straps so the lower setting falls directly on my waist! I think I'll keep the straps on the higher setting just because it looks cuter that way, but the length of the dress makes it feel like it was made for me (*´ω`*) (Bonus: It has glitter inlay! My first glitter dress!)

The second package was a pair of offbrand tea party shoes in pink. Can you believe that I have never had a pair of tea parties in the six years I've been in the fashion? Since I am just starting to pivot more towards sweet than classic style, I guess it makes sense. I've wanted tea parties for a while but just never found an affordable pair. (Plus I didn't want to wait for overseas shipping (;^ω^))

I am so excited for these! I think these will be good walking shoes in comparison to my heels and they look barely used! They are a perfect fit, too. I can't wait to wear them.

The third and final package is the one I am the most excited about. It is a set I found on a whim on Lace Market: The Dessert Cart at the Amusement Park by The Doll's Daydream!

The set came with the JSK, KC, and a matching fan. And yes, of course it was in yellow. I cannot lie when I say that I squealed when I removed this set from its beautifully wrapped box. It has everything I ever want in my dream wardrobe: the yellow colorway, a sweet food motif, and bunnies!! I am so thrilled to be the new owner of this piece. The seller was the nicest, too, and in fact we live in the same state! They stated that they were happy to sell to another lolita in the same state, so that made me very happy to hear (≧▽≦)

Thank you for unboxing with me! I hope you enjoyed reading this. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Lolita Fashion Wardrobe Questions

Questions were taken from Ruffle Cloud's post here. They were originally found on Tumblr. Please feel free to add your own answers on your own blog!

Q: Do you still own the first lolita item you bought?
A: I do! Both my first offbrand and branded piece. If we're talking strictly brand pieces, my first was Magic Tea Party's Musicians in Bremen Town JSK I received in a lucky pack! If we're talking about any piece that holds the lolita aesthetic, then it's this offbrand sailor collar one piece.
Q: What is the oldest lolita piece in your wardrobe?
A: That would be Metamorphose's Sweet Collection JSK I purchased second hand, circa 2006.
Q: What is the newest lolita piece in your wardrobe?
A: Technically my newest piece is an offbrand heart-shaped ita bag! If we're talking about main pieces though, then it's the Sweets Collection JSK I mentioned before.
Q: What is the cheapest main piece in your wardrobe?
A: This indie brand strawberry and cat print OP! This dress was $20 USD plus $5 USD shipping for a total of $25 USD.
Q: What is the most expensive main piece in your wardrobe?
A: Definitely this Angelic Pretty piece, Little Bunny Strawberry OP in yellow. It was approximately $187 USD with shipping. But I love it so much it was totally worth the price!!
Q: Which of your lolita items is your favorite?
A: I have two! First is my Angelic Pretty Little Bunny Strawberry OP. It was a dream piece of mine. It has the colorway and motifs of my dream wardrobe. My second favorite item is my Dear My Love heels. I love them so much; they are so cute and comfy. As I said before, I would buy a hundred dresses to match those heels alone! (人*´∀`)。*゚+

Q: Which item in your lolita wardrobe do you wear the most?
A: The most? Hm...I would say my plain red headbow and more recently, my plain white wrist cuffs!

Q: Which item in your wardrobe do you wear the least?
A: This is hard to say, but I would probably say my Magic Tea Party Christmas Desserts skirt. It's a holiday piece and it feels wrong for me to wear it at any other time of the year! ( ;∀;)
Q: Is there anything in your lolita wardrobe that you haven't worn yet?
A: Honestly, my BTSSB OP I got recently, Strawberry Sweetheart Cake. I've only tried it on, never worn it yet. It's so cute but a little deterred from it because I think it looks and feels more like a costume than a deliberate fashion choice (*﹏*;) There is also a dusty pink blouse that it a very heavy fabric (maybe heavyweight cotton?) that I haven't worn yet since I received it in the middle of summer. Since colder weather is approaching, I will now have the opportunity to wear it!

Q: What is missing from your lolita wardrobe?
A: More strawberries. Just joking! Honestly, I think some colored blouses and more OTKs. I only have white blouses and I think it gets kind of boring after a while only seeing me in white. ( ・ั﹏・ั) Also, more printed OTKs! This has to do with my moving from a more muted classic style to a sweet style, so I would definitely like to have more sweet printed OTKs to go with my dresses!

Q: When will your lolita wardrobe be complete?
Probably when my wardrobe is filled with strawberry and bunny themed items! Everything *must* have strawberries and/or bunnies. Ideally both!

Q: What was the last lolita item you sold or threw away?
A: I sold a long gold colored hime cut wig. The color didn't align with my new sweet style I'm developing my wardrobe into (it was a muted platinum gray-gold color) and I just have the hardest time caring for long wigs. There's a reason I have short hair IRL! (。ノω\。)

Q: How many OPs do you have?
A: I currently have seven!

Q: How many JSKs do you have?
A: I have ten currently.

Q: How many skirts do you have?
A: Two!

Q: How many petticoats do you have?
A: Technically three! One large white one from Amazon (my most comfortable and most used one), a thin costume-y scratchy petticoat with a single layer I got in a lucky pack, and a quarter length petticoat that is not technically a lolita item but I use it anyway! (It actually came with a cosplay I purchased!) The latter two I usually use for extra poof only alongside the Amazon petticoat or if I want to be conservative with my poof.

Q: What do you plan to buy next?
A: Most likely another JSK or a colored blouse!

Q: When you first started wearing lolita, what did you want your wardrobe to be like?
A: Definitely more of a classic style but not fully, truly "classic". If you see the photos below, these are the cringe-y hypothetical "coords" I put together for fun before I started getting into lolita. You can determine for yourself what style it is! I would say it's classic with a sweet twist.

Q: What is your lolita wardrobe currently like?
A: I'm kind of in a transition stage right now...I have some classic pieces and accessories but I've mostly converted to sweet. I know this because I tried to dress classic the other day and I was starving for accessories! I'm also trying to build a variety of items, including skirts, JSKs, OPs, and accessories. It's a lot but I love doing it!

Q: What would you like your lolita wardrobe to be like in the future?
A sweet parade full of bunnies, strawberries, and yellow! Ideally a sea of red, sax, and yellow with motifs of bunnies, strawberries, and sweets, with lots of lace and bows. <3

Café Visit: Rose Matcha and Rolled Ice Cream

Back in April of this year, I planned my first solo lolita outing to a new bubble tea café that opened in my town. The café is known as ThirsTea! (I think it is a chain but I haven't heard about it until now.)

Since I just got this dream print, I decided to wear my Little Bunny Strawberry OP. I wanted to look like a strawberry bunny! It's was my first time wearing it and I'm in love with it (♡ω♡ ) ~♪

Coord rundown:

KC: Taobao
Flower Crown: Offbrand
Choker: Angelic Pretty
Cutsew: Nile Perch
OP: Angelic Pretty
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Dear My Love

I decided to order a rose matcha tea (no bubbles) and a strawberry rolled ice cream with a condensed milk drizzle. Both were excellent! The rose was flavorful but nicely balanced with the matcha. The ice cream had a uniform strawberry flavor, a pleasant texture, and was super cold and creamy. I had never tried rolled ice cream before, but I definitely would try it again!

I had a great time listening to good music and relaxing in the upbeat atmosphere. I was the only customer there for most of my visit! I don't mind, though. I am quite introverted and appreciate not getting overstimulated with large amounts of people.

After almost an hour enjoying my treats, I decided to leave. I resisted purchasing a small boba plush to add to one of my bags, but I might not be able to resist next time! ⊂(・▽・⊂)

I will definitely be back to this sweet little place. Thank you for coming with me!

With love,

Poppy
